In Oxford we meet every Thursday in Old Marston, Oxford and sit together for two hours from 6.30pm – 8.30pm. Zen Teacher Sandy Chubb (see Our Teachers) offers a talk most weeks. If you would like to join us, just email Jason Doble at oxfordzen@googlemail.com telling him about your experience, or none, and he will answer your queries and direct you to contact Sandy Chubb. She may then suggest that you attend a monthly introductory session for newcomers, whether you are an experienced meditator or not. Evening meditation occurs every Thursday from 6.30pm – 8.30pm. Each sitting period lasts 25 minutes followed by a five minute walking meditation.
In London we meet every Tuesday in The Meditatio Centre, St Marks Church, Myddelton Square, London EC1R 1XX. We sit together from 5.45pm – 7.45pm with the same pattern of sitting as Oxford (see the paragraph above). Sandy Chubb leads two long afternoons and evenings twice a month and Assistant Zen Teacher Meg Vaughan-Fowler guides the Sangha on the other two Tuesdays, offering introductory sessions for newcomers, assisted by Mark Hudson. Newcomers should initially contact Mark Hudson who will direct them to an introductory session. Mark’s email: mark@londonjizozencentre.org
We practice Soto Zen and include Rinzai koan study (see Our Practice).
